E-Mail Integration Tab

E-mail integration is used for e-mail and fax blasts or any other mass e-mail opportunities. Messaging handles individuals only. NetForum passes the individual's data into Real Magnet, HighRoad, and InFormz, which in turn "maps the fields" and sends out the e-mail or fax.

This help topic covers email integration for individuals and all the child forms associated with it including:

  • e-mail integration tracking

  • e-mail integration link tracking

  • e-mail integration unsubscribes

  • e-mail integration fax tracking

E-Mail Integration Tab

There is a nightly process that imports data back into NetForum from Real Magnet, HighRoad, and/or InFormz . This data is displayed on the E-Mail Integration tab on the Individual Profile page.

E-Mail Integration Tracking

This child form tracks which emails that the individual received, the date they received them and when they were opened.

E-Mail Integration Link Tracking

This child form tracks which hyperlinks were in what emails and which ones the receiver actually clicked to view, and the date on which the link is accessed. This is a method to measure the success of an e-mail campaign.

E-Mail Integration Fax Tracking

This child form tracks which faxes that individual received and the date they sent them.

E-Mail Integration Unsubscribes

This child form tracks which emails the individual has requested that they no longer receive. It also notes the email group they are in, and the date they removed themselves from receiving that email.

Results of the Email Campaign

Once you send an email blast, a variety of things can happen:

  • The email bounces: the bounces child form on the correspondence tab displays bounces returned from the integration vendor. For MagnetMail, if the recipient is marked as "suppressed" in the vendor's system, the email will be marked as invalid.
  • The email is sent successfully: the communications child form on the correspondence tab displays the message as sent.
  • The customer clicks the opt-out link: NetForum updates the comm preferences page to opt users out of mailing types that match the mailing type sent. As long as the group name matches the mailing type.

Tip: opt outs which occur in NetForum are pushed to High Roads opt out categories as part of the tracking updater.

  • The customer clicks a link in the email: As long as the link is something with in NetForum, then NetForum creates the following:
    • a Customer Action record on the scoring tab, and
    • an implicit interest activity on the misc tab of type Link Click, if the link is related to interest codes.
  • The customer reports the message as spam to the vendor: NetForum sets the do not email flag on the Individual Profile, which means the customer only receives transaction email.
